I use aluminum oxide for all of my wood projects. If you look into why aluminum oxide is so good for wood, you will
find out that the material is "friable". That means that the particles on the paper actually break as you sand.
This creates more sharp edges to work with. Also, it doesn't load up like others. Silicon carbide is usually not
used for wood because the particles are too hard and do not break like they should. That paper is used for steel,
aluminum, and other metals. There is a wealth of information out there on sandpaper. Do a Google search for
"sandpaper" and you will find more than you ever wanted.
