
This is my first project using a scrollsaw. The pattern is an owl, which, in its former life, served as a pumpkin carving template. (See my pumpkin carving page).
It is cut from 1/4" plywood that I had laying around the shop. The frame is made of oak that I scrounged from a used pallet. The size of the plywood is 8x10.
The plywood was primed and painted using an enamel paint. Then, both the plywood and the frame received two coats of lacquer. I sprayed the lacquer using my air brush kit from Harbor Freight. Yep, it is the $5.99 special. Works like a charm.
